Hi,
I use Google Chrome as my web browser. Does Google Chrome automatically update without asking you? 3 things I noticed that were different were:
1. In the top right corner, there used to be two buttons; one was a paper, and the other was a wrench. Now I only have the wrench.
2. Next to the URL (www.) There is a globe. When I click on it, it shows web page security.
3. The loading circle (next to the name of the website on the tab) used to be blue, but now it's green. (I'm not sure but this color may vary for different themes. I have the baseball theme.)
Please do not answer saying, "You changed your theme" because I didn't change it.

I'm such a girlie girl. I'm just not into sports or any kind. But my mother, father, and sister always try to force me to play sports I have no idea how to play just because my brother does basketball and baseball and my sister does volleyball, track and field, and softball. They forced me into softball which I know nothing about or how to play. It wasn't a beginners team either. Everyone knew what they were doing and I looked like a fool!
They want me to get into a good college, but I don't NEED sports to get into one. What do you think?
*me
Next they are going to force me into basketball and swimming, because I have long legs. I want to prevent that

A friend of mine is really busy today and asked me to help out by coaching his little league baseball team's practice today. I told him sure but since I'm kinda new at this whole coaching thing I need to know what coaches usually do on the team's Very First baseball practice. Oh and the kids are 9 and 10 year olds.

I like soccer but I'm not a die hard fan. I see my MLS team games but I don't search my tv for games. My parents weren't soccer fans growing up. My mom is from Oklahoma and was Miss Oklahoma and they like their football. My dad played pro baseball and is from the Dominican Republic so they were never exposed to soccer. My mom grew up loving football and my dad loved baseball as a kid. No time for soccer. What made you get interested in soccer?
@Don't Dive for me Argentina-My dad was born in Santo Domingo....what are the odds you guessed that right?

Soon the Detroit Tigers could be the tenth team in baseball to be officially taken out of 2010 playoff contention (their "elimination number" is 10). They currently have a winning record by one game, at 71-70 (.504).
The Detroit Tigers are historically a good team. Since starting in 1901, the franchise has a winning record of 8,634 wins and 8,426 losses. The Tigers have been to the playoffs 12 times. They have won the American League Pennant 10 times. They have even won the World Series four times (Detroit defeated the Cubs in both 1935 & 1945, the St. Louis Cardinals in 1968, and the San Diego Padres in 1984). The Tigers went from losing 119 games in 2003 to winning the AL Pennant in 2006 (when they lost the World Series to the Cardinals in 5 games). The Tigers again had a losing record in 2008, but had a winning record last year.
Let's look at the facts about this year:
First game of season: Defeated the Royals 8-4 in Kansas City (April 5)
First home game of season: Defeated the Cleveland Indians 5-2 (April 9)
LOSS OF A LEGEND:
- Longtime Tigers broadcaster Ernie Harwell passed away at the age of 92 (May 4)
THE 28-OUT PERFECT GAME:
- SP Armando Galarraga (4.60 ERA) would have pitched the 21st perfect game in MLB history (also the 3rd of the season and the 1st in Tigers history!) had it not been for a bad call by umpire Jim Joyce. In effect, Galarraga had to get a 28th out, but was robbed from having the distinct honor of officially having a "perfect game". MLB Commissioner Bud Selig refused to reverse the decision, but said that it could open discussion for expanding instant replay in baseball.
Longest Slump of season: Lost 22 of 28 games to Twins, Indians, Rangers, Blue Jays, Rays, Red Sox, White Sox, and Angels (July 11-August 10)
Worst Loss of season: Beaten by the White Sox in Chicago 2-12 (August 3)
Best Victory of season: Defeated the Kansas City Royals 12-3 in Detroit (August 23)
TRADES:
- The Tigers traded RP Clay Rapada (4.94 ERA) to the Texas Rangers for a player to be named

- The Tigers traded C Dusty Ryan (.257) to the San Diego Padres for a player to be named
- The Tigers traded P Nate Robertson (4.90 ERA) to the Florida Marlins for P Jay Voss
- The Tigers traded SP Dontrelle Willis (4.12 ERA) to the Arizona Diamondbacks for RP Billy Buckner (5.74 ERA)
- The Tigers traded minor league pitcher Geovanni Soto to the Cleveland Indians for IF Jhonny Peralta (.262)

Pytanie #9:
so im a senior and high school and i plan on attending college, but i also want to play college baseball. i don't know if i should take a year off right after high school and just work hard and practice and pretty much secure a spot on the team, or should i go and try out right after high school?
Pytanie #10:
I weight 155lbs and I am a college baseball player, I have a realllyyyy fast metabolism and although ill appreciate it when im older I need the weight now. What foods should I eat to gain consistent weight even in such an active schedule?
Pytanie #11:
When I watch professional sports and I see the athletes or teams engage in fights and other unsportsmanlike activity, I tend to view it as juvenile and immature behavior on their part.
Here are people making millions of dollars to play sports for a living, many of these persons being role models or heroes to the younger generation, and then their antics become an embarrassment to their sport, their team, and themselves.
Examples would be hockey players having serious fistfights, baseball teams having both benches empty out for a melee in the middle of the infield, skirmishes in basketball and football, etc. And then there is the deplorable activities off the field also such as drug and alcohol abuses and many other incidents.
Does anyone else agree that all of this sets a very bad example and gives a bad name to sports in America?
Pytanie #12:
Forgive me.. I don't know EVERYTHING about baseball lol.
First I must say, Im so mad at the braves for losing to teams like the Rockies,Marlins, and PIRATES???! to knock them out of first place. So depressing.
So, if the Braves lose to the Phillies for the division win... Does that automatically end their playoff hopes? Is it just the first place team out of every division that goes? How does the Wild Card work?
thanks for the info!
Pytanie #13:
Hi everyone, I really want to join a sports team, but my school doesn't have a baseball team and I suck at pretty much everything else, I kinda like soccer but Im not that good. I've been going to the gym lately, i feel much more active, i lost a nice amount of weight and im getting stronger. What are some good suggestions to make it into the team, the tryouts are, i believe until spring, so i have quite some time to practise, any advice?
I think the use the beep test so do you know where can i get it from?

I have been dating off and on this woman for about 5 or 6 years. She has a 14 year old son. She constantly complains that it's tough raising a kid by herself. When she has to cancel dates, she always uses "It's hard raising a child by myself", etc. I'm a single father, and I feel that if I can show up on time for a date, why can't she???? And I have babies!
I also have a hard time feeling sorry for her because her kid's father has been in jail for 14 years. She admits that she liked the gang banger type when she was younger, and she knew that her kid's father was a criminal when she was having unprotected sex with him without being on birth control. I see it as one of those situations where you made your bed hard, now you have to lie in it. I don't feel sorry for her. I do feel sorry for her son. He's obese, anti-social, and a momma's boy that sits in the house playing video games all day. I've asked her to allow her son play football and baseball for the teams I coach, but she keeps making excuses every year since the boy was 10. I'm not the kid's father, nor am I trying to be his father. He has contact with his dad in jail, and visits him regularly. He will be out of jail in 2 more years.

Well, I met Midge a few months ago in softball. Now that I started to get to know her, she's crazy! One time, I had a 4 hour baseball practice so I left my phone in the car and I came back reading my texts and she said," Why aren't you answering my texts?? Do you hate me? You don't want to be friends anymore don't you?!?!" And later on,I started becoming close with this girl, Becca, and Midge gets pissed when I say her name. Midge wants to be my ONLY best friend and she wants all the attention. I don't like it. I want Becca to be my best friend, not Midge. I don't know how to tell her though. If I say something wrong, Midge stresses herself out and worries and then will start to cry! What should I do? Please help me

Someone is trying to tell me that Ivan Nova from the Yankees is "black" I'm arguing that no he isn't black he is a Dominican. The person said "I'm 100% black and Nova is darker than me" I told the person "Well does that make him 120% black?"
Ivan Nova is from Dominican Republic so I compared him to Pedro Martinez and asked if the person thought he was black too-or did he miss the cutoff of blackness?
So if you can name me some light-skinned Dominicans that I could compare I'd really appreciate it. THANKS!
Ok "Sarge"
How is this at all racist?? Here's a quote from Torii Hunter, who obviously doesn't appreciate the mislabeling either. I guess he's a "racist" too. GTFO
"People see dark faces out there, and the perception is that they're African American. They're not us. They're impostors. Even people I know come up and say, 'Hey, what color is Vladimir Guerrero? Is he a black player?' I say, 'Come on, he's Dominican. He's not black.'"
"What I meant was they’re not black players; they’re Latin American players. There is a difference culturally. But on the field, we’re all brothers, no matter where we come from, and that’s something I’ve always taken pride in: treating everybody the same, whether he’s a superstar or a young kid breaking into the game. Where he was born and raised makes no difference."
Steph you seem a little aggravated. Calm down ho. If you want to say Pujols is Dominican that is fine but no need for that other crap.
Seems like you need a hug!! You'll find someone to love your stank-butt don't worry.

BQ (for those who already took the survey) thoughts so far?
oh, and the % is percent of that state followed by how many people have voted for that team/state.
for example:
Minnesota: Twins 100% (8)
^ so 8 people all voted for the Twins, making it 100%.
@ Stone: I did?
haha, weird, because I posted the first 3 all around 4 PM (CT)
Why would I post at 7?
You're screwing with me ;)
@ Chris: This is just the people in the baseball section. It's very obvious I'd have to interview thousands of people to be close to correct.
oh, and read again. 75% likes the YANKEES, 19% likes the Mets (which is pretty close to your averages) so there.

theres this boy, ryan. he was all i could think about. i seriously thought i was in love with him last year. i never felt that way about a guy before! he has a friend, nate, who is one of my best friends and we all have know eachother for a really long time. nate kind of hooked us up a little and me and ryan started txting alot and he was really really sweet to me. he was planning to ask me out after baseball season after his last game.. during the season, nate lowered my self- esteem level A LOT. she would always coment on me and call me akward and too tall and point out all my flaws. she would also talk about her and ryan when they were smaller and how they loved eachother and all their cute little memories of them going out, even when they kissed. that got me thinking if they were more than just friends. we are 9th graders this year. i cant even explain how i feel for him. i want to tell him SO badly that i made a mistake and why i never became his girlfriend. i want to tell him what nate did and why i had those second thoughts. i hate the most when nate tells me what other people think of me. im confident in my looks and my body but not when she acts with such insecurity. she actually asks guys if they think i am hot or what they think of me, and then she will say that they say im not pretty. she actually told me that ryan said i wasnt pretty, even though he told me earlier. why would she even tell me that? she also told me that ryan liked her.. why would she want to rub these things in my face?? im so angy and confused and hurt. why would she do this to me?? she is always telling me that ryan does not like me and asking me if i like him. what is the problem(s) here? what is up with her? how do i tell ryan that i still have feelings for him?? a note??!?! i dont have any classes with him or lunch with him

The initial velocity of the baseball is 100 m/s at an angle of 30 degrees from the horizontal. I need to find the radius of curvature right after it is released and at the apex.
I figure out the horizontal component Vx= 86.63 m/s and the vertical component Vy= 50 m/s
I have the equation a= ((v^2)/p) + v where p is the radius of curvature.
I am having difficulty taking this problem further because the equations in our book are not very clear. Is there a simple equation for radius of curvature in terms of velocity or tangential acceleration?
Guidance would be appreciated!

Hi I have a 1931 spalding Babe Ruth baseball card. It has been graded by American authentication association. It is a 7.5 (near mint) on the front side it says " take a bat and keep swinging it" and it is labeled 24-A. On the back it is labeled 15-B and it says "look squarely at the pitcher". I bought this at a flea market and know nothing about it and can't find any information about it anywhere. Is it a fake?
I also have a 93 Fleer Chris carpenter that my dad gave that spells his name as "Cris Carpenter" and says he plays for the Florida marlins but in the picture he is in his cardinals uniform is this one also a fake? Thank you in advance.
Pytanie #31:
I have a 10 year old son. He is a stocky kid, but not fat. He is about 100lbs, but he's short. He gained about 25lbs since last year this time. He has always been a strong kid and has played sport year around this year. He plays football with his dad as the coach. My son has been trying to get down to 95lbs in order to play on my ex's team. If he doesn't drop the weight by Saturday he'll have to play for another team. My ex has had my son on a low carb diet for the past month & making him run a mile a day in the morning...and 2 hours of football practice 5 days a week in the evening. My ex says my son "dogged it" and didn't work hard during baseball season (which he coaches too), and now our son has to pay for it.
School started this week and he has him waking up at 6AM before school to run a mile, then practice 3 days a week...and on the nights that there is no practice he has him run another mile in the evening.
I think this is unhealthy and he is too young to be doing this.
My ex says that what our son is doing is voluntary, because he doesn't have to play on his team. He can "move up" and play in another division, but our son wants to play for him...and if that's what "our son wants" this is what he has to do. He says that our son wakes up on his own at 6AM to go running, but at my house he sits in the house all day and watches tv. He also blames me for not taking our son to run when he was with me over the past week, and not adhering to his diet...and blames me that he gained a pound over the past week. He says that our son was 102lbs at the beginning of August, and 98lbs 2 weeks ago.
My ex lives next door to his dad & his dad is the one taking him too and from the park, school, & practices because my ex works. When I talk to my ex's dad he agrees with my ex and feels that what our son is doing isn't harmful. I feel like it's two against one.
We don't have a custody agreement...I'm wondering if I should just keep my son with me and not let him play football to put a stop to this.
When my son is at my house he doesn't get up early to go running, nor does he ask me to take him to the park to run. He'll do a few push ups and sit up between commercials. And he eats what everyone else in the house eats. I don't make a special low carb meal when the rest of the family is on a normal diet.

Pytanie #33:
Why did the White Sox build US Cellular Field in Bridgeport....it's the most boring neighborhood in all of chicago.
I heard that they almost made a deal with the Bears that they would renovate Soldier Field and make it the first good multipurpose stadium. (with seats that change directions based on whether its baseball or football) movable sections of bleachers to allow normal dimension for baseball. The deal fell through because the Bears were too hesitant and Chicago's Museum campus shares parking with soldier field and they thought that 81 baseball games would hog up all their parking to a level that it would hurt buisness.
A stadium proposal to be built along the Chicago river in the middle of downtown in a vacant lot that is still vacant to this day. Just think, they could have built a stadium like PNC Park and had water shots into the river.
I even heard of a proposal for a stadium to be built in the Suburb of Orland Park. The area around Orland is beautiful and there are three train stations within the suburb that would allow for easy commute from fans from the city.
So many possibilities but they picked Bridgeport and didnt even bother to have the stadium face the city and have the skyline as a backdrop.
Can somone explain this to me? am I missing something that would make the location make sense other than its accross the street from the old park.

This is more then a question people I need help! So you wondering why the fxcx would I eat my blunt? Well.. Me and 2 buddies decided to smoke my friend chris blunt on school campus like dip shts. Everyone in the school noes about this spot on the baseball fields it's the dugout. We were blowing and and I decided to pop my head out to look out for the campus cops turns out when I looked I saw 2 of them coming the blunt was in my hand and I just eat it. lol I learned from past mistakes this is the way to go BELIEVE me. The cops pop up searched us all found no weed and took us to principle everyones eyes where red buy mine because I use eye drops and have them 24/7 I know Im making my self out to sound like a pot head but I'm just smart about what I do.. Well anyway we all got a removal hearing tomaro to go which is just saying we gotta go to an alternative school for 10 days. Big woop.. Well I was thinkin the only evidence they have on ME is the weed aroma because my eyes weren't red.
NOW: this is where I need you. At the removal hearing if I can prove I wasn't smoking I can get off scotch free so here is the lie I came up with..... We were at the dugout and they were blowing and I was just there on my side I can say my eyes were white and the smell of weed on my hands( officer smelled our hands) came from me giving them a handshake( my 2 friends) the rest they have nothing on me they have no tape no red eyes for me only the smell of weed on my hands. Pytanie #37:
It will be long, because there are a lot of things that I feel have contributed to the way I am now.
1) My mother was/is a recluse, and because of that, while I lived with her (till I was 14), she did not let me do anything but go to school (she drove me) and come home. I couldn't play baseball because she wouldn't take me, I couldn't go to friends houses because she wouldn't let me. There was never a reason to it, besides the fact that she was a recluse and wanted me to be the same way.
2) I remember, one day, one of the girls in my middle school class, put a "i like you not" in my desk. I didn't see it, and it was the day of the parent teacher conference. My mother found it in my desk, and made fun of me for it. She put it on the fridge, and made me feel like I did something wrong.
- I moved out of my moms house to stay with my father when I was 14.
3) My father immediately made it clear he didn't want me. Claiming, "I don't have the time to deal with you". He was more focused on himself (still is) than me. He is a wealthy man, and did nothing to "raise" me, but provide me with a room. In fact, he refused to take the time to buy me a bed, so for at least 2 years, I slept on the carpet floor. I had to walk to the high school on my own to register myself. I was 14. He did nothing but throw money at me and demand I wasn't home when he was. (He would constantly bring home dates).
At this point, because of the way my mother raised me, I was terrible in social situations. I had no practice. I had one friend in my freshmen year in high school, and the only thing I remember about him, relating to the only girl I had ever asked out in high school. It was because of my friend saying "just do it". I still remember her face, clearly thinking I was a joke. She said no. That was the year before I moved in with my father. I kept in contact with my friend for a little while over the internet. The thing I remember was, the girl I had asked out, asked him for his camera, and took naked pictures of herself and sent them to him. He got all the girls. I was clearly the weird friend. I was depressed, and almost killed myself.
Now at this new high school, (sophmore year), a few people befriended me, but then turned out to just do it as a joke. I made one friend over the entire next 3 years in that new high school, it was a girl. I some how, got her to go out with me. She was my first kiss. A day or so after that, she called me, and said "i am sorry" and long story short, one of those guys who "Befriended me", went up to the girl, asked her out, and did everything with her, just to make me look stupid and bad. He succeeded. She apologized to me, after realizing why the other guy did what he did. I immediately hung up and never talked to her again. I remember walking by her in the hall ways, and she would try to talk to me, and I couldn't look at her, or say a word. I even remember her crying because I wouldn't even talk to her. I met her my sophomore year in high school. I didn't talk to another person at that school in any context but something to do with class ever since. All I did was study, praying I could get away from those people, my father and mother.
I got into a out of state college, (Ohio state) with a full ride. My father didn't even come to my graduation. My mother wouldn't leave to make the 4 hour long drive. The only person who came was my brother.
At college, I kind of felt like I could start over, and it worked. I made a few friends and had one girl friend. For some reason, (Probably lack of social training), I screwed it up with the girl by saying something that pissed her off, and I ended up just drifting apart from the friends. I remember on several occasions they would jokingly tell me "we thought you died" because for months at a time, I wouldn't leave me room for anything but class and I ate nothing but chips in my room.
I transferred from Ohio state to go to USC (this time I had to pay), and didn't talk to a single person for the entire time I was there. I went 2 years without getting a single persons phone number. The only person I ever called was my brother. I gained around 70 pounds over that time, and did nothing but study and eat.
I took the last year off, and lost all the weight. I also made it into medical school, and that is were I am now. A few people here have kind of befriended me, but I already feel myself drifting apart.
I know, years of bad/neglectful parents and bad memories of every friend I ever made had led me to be really socially inept. I fear I am either going to just go back to being antisocial, or piss these people off to the point where I don't have a choice but to be antisocial.
How can I get over 22 years of terrible background.

Ok, well I'm a sophomore in high school and I've been really interested about going to The University of Notre Dame. My grades are great, I play baseball and I play the quads for my school's marching band. I've read Notre Dame's Evaluation Criteria and it seems like it's going to be tough to get into this college. I've been wanting to attend Notre Dame ever since I was 5 years old. I've had my goals set out since I was 10. I plan on being a Medical Examiner and going for all 8 years to get my Doctorates degree. The main problem about this is being able to pay for all the funding..I'd like to get an Academic Scholarship or possibly a Baseball Scholarship. The baseball scholarship probably won't happen because my high school is located in the middle of nowhere, so I can't rely on that. So far in all the years of my high school, I've been the first sophomore to play the quads. My band director has told me I'm very talented and excellent at reading music and whatnot. So, this leads me to my question. Does anyone know if The University of Notre Dame accepts Marching Band Scholarships? I'm afraid I won't be able to pay for the funding and I'd like to cut off a couple years or more with a scholarship. This is really important to me. So please, if anyone can answer this question or help me out in any way to make my dream and goal come true, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Cory

I think the idea of people being defenseless (women, children, etc) is stupid since the human body can be a weapon is someone throws a punch or kicks a leg so that someone trips. Not carrying a firearm doesn't mean a person doesn't have a lethal means of inflicting pain or physical damage. Anything can be a weapon if it is thrust forward with enough speed and makes a firm enough impact on the human body, be it a fist or a baseball or a penny or a tree branch. So in that sense there are potential weapons all over the place. They're not solely metallic (a.k.a. guns, knives, swords). They can be wooden or glass (cracked beer bottles) or even the human body can be a lethal weapon (connecting on enough punches and kicks that someone dies or wrapping the arms around someone's neck so that her or she has all the oxygen choked out of them. Even water can be a weapon. A person can die from not drinking enough of it (thirst) or of being suffocated with it (drowning). Funny how we can't breathe in it, yet it makes up most of our body and we must drink it or we die. So in that sense even water can be a helper or a harmer to humans.

You know the “scrubini” term, right? It’s from baseball, and generally refers to the bench players, or “scrubs,” or, playfully, the “scrubinis.” The guys who show up to the ballpark knowing they have to surrender prime B.P. time to the starters, the guys who ride the pine and get late pinch-running duties, or the occasional spot start in a day game after a night game.

The first homecoming was held at the University of Missouri, back when baseball was America's number one sport. Why back then was it still associated with a football game, instead of baseball?
Baseball back in the late 1800's and about half of the 1900's was America's number one sport.
Also if you think baseball isn't an American sport, you are highly mistaken.
